Pinterest for Businesses

Pinterest recently launched the ability to have a designated business presence. The feature is free, and you can easily convert your current account to a business account through this link: http://business.pinterest.com. This change will not require any new creative or extra work, as the business pages are currently identical to personal profiles; however, it is best to switch over should Pinterest choose to release business-specific features in the future, such as built-in analytics or “Buy It Now” buttons. This article provides detailed steps on the simple process of switching your pages to business pages.

As part of the Business portal, there’s also a new feature called “Board Widgets.” This means that a board owner can embed a mini version of a board that will display up to 30 pins on their website. This could be something simple and effective to embed onto campaign-specific pages on brand sites. For instance, a board about a specific line of denim could be shown as a small widget within the aligned section on the brand site. You can learn more about embeddable widgets here.
