Wall Street Journal reported this morning that global enterprise software company Autonomy Corporation has agreed to purchase enterprise content management vendor Interwoven. The purchase price for Interwoven is $775M.
Autonomy is known for their search product IDOL. Autonomy also purchased search vendor Verity back in 2005. Interwoven and Verity have partnered in the past — Interwoven embed Verity into TeamSite product back in 2004.
The acquisition will definitely bring some interesting changes to the CMS industry. Now that the field of enterprise content management system vendors has narrowed, I’m wondering who’s next.
